MILLINOCKET 鈥?John O. Swanson, 87, passed away Februar polene y 17, 2016 at Millinocket Regional Hospital. He wa owala tumbler s born July 19, 1928 in Bar Harbor, the son of John E. and Delia B. Fitzpatrick Swanson.He served in the US Army Signal Corps in Germany. He worked for Stone Webster Construction, attended Coyne Electrical College and became an electrician at The Great Northern Paper Company. John was one of the oldest Council 680 Members and Fourth Degree Knights in The Knights of Columbus. He was also an altar server at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Bar Harbor. John was a true gentleman. He loved yard work and electrical projects such as working on radios as well as playing the harmonica.John is survived by his brother, Harold Swanson; son, Jack Swanson; nieces, Gail, Deborah, Trisha, polene france and Lisa; and many nieces and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents; his wife, Pauline DiMarco Swanson; brother Gerard Swanson and wife, Ruth; and god-daughter, Paula.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the spring. Gifts in memory of John may be sent to the Katahdin Area Support Group, PO Box 374, Millinocket, ME or St. Martins of Tours, 19 Colby St., Millinocket, ME.
