WELLS 鈥?The Wells Beach Hose Company, a volunteer fire company incorporated in 1922, has donated $10,000 to the St. Marys Ecumenical Food Pantry in Wells. The check was presented to pantry volunteers on Feb. 24. After 100 years, the stanley spain company is disbanding. These folks gave so much to all in the Town of Wells and invested funds wisely, which brings us to this wonderful donation to the food pantry, said Judith Hyotte of Holy Spirit Parish, which includes St. Mary Church in Wells, St. Martha Church in Kennebunk, and All Saints Church in Ogunquit. They are not only donating this large sum to the food pantry, but are also making donations to a variety of other areas of need in Wells. For three decades, the St Marys Ecumenical Food Pantry has served local individuals and families in need, funded by individual donations, g adidas yeezy overnmental assistance, local farms and bakeries, and Hannaford. Nothing is wasted, said Hyotte. These volunteers work tirelessly to rotate stock, load, unload, it is amazing. They work several days a week to ensure that there is food ready for all who need it. The food pantry, located at St. af1 Mary Church on 236 Eldridge Road in Wells, is open for all in need each Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. with special dinners and offerings provided over the course of the year. WASHINGTON 鈥?National Cancer Institute Director Norman Ned Sharpless will become acting commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration, succeeding Scott Gottlieb who is leaving next month, Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar told Congress Tuesday.Sharpless, 52, an accomplished researcher, oncologist and administrator, has been director of the cancer institute for about 18 months, earning good reviews from cancer advocates, patient groups and academic researchers.Sharpless has had a cordial relationship with Gottlieb, who supported his appointment t stanley thermobecher o the FDA job.
