Amidst record-high temperatures, deluges, droughts and wildfires, leaders are convening for another round of United Nations climate talks later this month that seek to curb the centuries-long trend of humans spewing ever more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. For hundreds of years, people have shaped the wor stanley cupe ld around them for their benefit: They drained lakes to protect infrastructure, wealth and people. They dug up billions of tons of c stanley quencher oal, and then oil and gas, to fuel empires and economies. The allure of exploiting nature and burning fossil fuels as a path to prosperity hopped from nation to nation, each eager to secure their own energy.People who claimed the power to control nature and the energy resources around them saw the envi pink stanley cup ronment as a tool to be used for progress, historians say. Because we conclude that Nader failed to meet his burden to present the court with prima facie evidence that MDPs petitioning activities in Maine were devoid of factual or legal support, we conclude that MDPs motion to dismiss should be granted. Prima facie evidence is assumed to be true unless proven not to be, according to Blacks Law Dictionary. The decision said that any of the following could have been but were not submitted as evidence: a transcript of the proceeding before the hearing offic stanley quencher er who recommended to the Secretary of States office that the complaints about petition irregularities be dismissed; a copy of the hearing officers complete report; or the Secretary of States decision. The Nader suit stemmed from the 2004 presidential election nearly a decade ago when D stanley cup emocrats and others filed 29 complaints against his campaign in 19 states, including Maine, in an effort to keep Nader and his running mate, the late Peter Camejo, off the ballot, according to previously published reports. Nader and Camejo did make it on the ballots in 34 states, including Maine, but stanley trinkflaschen  Republican President George W. Bush won re-election.Nader and co-plaintiffs Christopher Droznick,
