B stanley cup y Elias Hazou and Gina AgapiouA Cypriot firefighting mission in Greece was doing its part in assisting extinguishing efforts of the Greek forces in Varympompi, near Athens, fire services spokesman Andreas Kettis said Thursday.The Cypriot crews, which include 20 firefighters and 20 memb stanley cup ers from the civil defence along with their own equipment, were sent to the Tatoi Old Royal Palace and Krioneri cemetery areas in Varympompi, Kettis said.Tatoi was the summer palace and 42 square kilometre estate of the former Greek Royal Family. The area is a densely wooded southeast-facing slope of Mount Parnitha, located 27 km from the city centre of Athens. There are active fronts there and they will operate together with infantry units of the Greek fire brigade, said Kettis.At around 8pm the official posted another update on his Twitter feed: The Cypriot mission continues operating in the flare-up that occurred after noon at Krioneri. One of the teams continues operating at Krioneri, and the other within the site of the Old Royal Palace with the assistance of five fire engines of the Greek Fire Brigade. There are still active fire fronts which they are fighting, as well as constant flare-ups. Cyprus had responded to Greeces call for help in the wildfires on Wednesday. MADAWASKA 鈥?Robert Sirois, 80 years, 11 months, passed away March 5, 2011, at Mercy Home, Eagle Lake. stanley canada He was born April 17, 1929, in Frenchville, the son of Charles and Olive Sirois Sirois.Robert was a fourth degree member of Knights of Columbus, Madawaska.He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Lucille Marie Plourde Sirois of Frenchville; two sons, William Sirois and his wife, Christine, of Merrimac, N.H., and David Sirois and his wife, Kathleen, of Appleton, Wis.; four brothers, Valere and Charles Sirois, both of Madawaska, Claude Sirois of Frenchville and Hermel Sirois of St. Agatha; one sister, Theresa Signorille of Stamford, Conn.; four grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to both parents, Robert was predeceased by four brothers, Lucien, Conrad, Louis and Bertrand; stanley bicchiere and one sister, Sister Corine Sirois.Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at Lajoie Funeral Home, Madawaska.
